Honey Touch: Phase One.
Honey Touch explores healing modalities of touch, sound and co-regulation. We explored themes of birth, womb-state, bath-ritual, forms of touch that included regulating the nervous system, pressure and force through jui jitsu, and support and grounding through contact improv techniques.
Honey Touch is part one of a three part works resulting in an evening length piece projected to premier 2024.
Honey Touch explores levels of touch and intimacy in the human connection and how touch helps us to heal. The concept and direction has been conceived by JmeJames and inspired by their own research through the pandemic as a way to soothe the nervous system, and use movement and touch as a healing and sustainable force. Jme drove into their knowledge of techniques from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Contact Improv, and Somatic Healing Practices.
With collaborators Patsy and Geovanny, the trio, working as Trash Babes Production, has been deepening and developing this practice, with a mission to normalize physical intimacy as a form of resistance.
We will be presenting Phase Two on June 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Link to buy tickets soon to come.
